Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Performance Standing
    1. Performance Reviews: Candidates must have consistently met expectations in performance reviews over the past two years.
    2. Disciplinary Actions: Candidates should have no record of disciplinary actions.
       
  2. Organizational Tenure
    1. Minimum Tenure: Candidates must have been employed at Baylor for at least five years to ensure they have a thorough understanding of its culture and operations.
       
  3. Level Within the Hierarchy
    1. Mid-Level or Higher: Candidates should hold a director-level position or higher within the organizational hierarchy to ensure they possess the necessary experience and authority.
    2. Leadership Experience: A minimum of two to three years of supervisory experience is required, with a focus on managing staff members.
       
  4. Conflict of Interest
    1. Familial Relationships: Candidates must not have a familial relationship with anyone on the President’s Council or any individual holding significant leadership authority.
       
  5. Availability
    1. Candidates must have sufficient time and capacity to fulfill the responsibilities of the Staff Ombudsperson role. Candidates must not have any current university time commitments outside of their regular role that would interfere with their ability to serve effectively in the Staff Ombudsperson role. This includes but is not limited to additional administrative roles, teaching responsibilities (if staff), or extensive committee participation.
       
  6. Training
    1. Candidates must be willing and able to complete the International Ombuds Association (IOA) Foundations of the Organizational Ombuds Course.
